Rapid Hero is one of those arcade shooters where you immediately know you're in for chaos. You pilot this little ship that just keeps spitting bullets in short bursts—no holding down fire here, you've gotta tap like crazy while dodging what feels like half the universe trying to kill you. The first stage lulls you in with some basic enemy patterns, then suddenly you're weaving through bullet sprays that fill the screen.

What I love is how the upgrades work. Every blown-up enemy drops these floating icons—grab enough P icons and your shots get wider, snag an L and suddenly you've got lasers slicing across the screen. But die once, and you lose half your firepower in an instant. The risk-reward with the star pickups is brutal too: leave them floating too long and you're missing out on huge point multipliers, but going for them means diving straight into danger.

Boss fights are where it really shines though. That same giant robot keeps coming back each level, but it's like it's got a personal grudge—every time it transforms into something even more ridiculous, spewing patterns that make you question your life choices. And just when you think you've got a handle on it, stage 3 throws planetary terrain into the mix, forcing you to navigate tight corners while everything explodes.

It's the kind of game where your first credit lasts maybe four minutes, but by your fifth try you're hooked on that cycle of building up power-ups, surviving by the skin of your ship, and swearing at that one boss attack you still can't dodge.
