Rise of the Triad: The HUNT Begins came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Apogee Software. It arrived in an era when first-person shooters were rapidly evolving, and it stood out with a willingness to be loud, fast, and a little bit ridiculous. You could tell it wasn't trying to be another Doom clone; it had its own strange personality from the very first level.

You control a member of an elite strike team sent to investigate a remote island taken over by a dangerous cult. Your objective is to fight through each area, clearing enemies and finding keys to progress. The game is known for its over-the-top arsenal, including the multi-missile launching Drunk Missile and the Excalibat, a baseball bat that sends enemies flying. Levels are packed with environmental hazards like instant-death spike traps and collapsing floors that keep you constantly alert. The pacing is relentless, often throwing large groups of enemies at you in tight spaces, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with limited saves in the shareware version. Playing it feels like being caught in a chaotic, explosive cartoon where every corner could hide either a new weapon or a sudden, ridiculous death.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
