Game Overview

Sam and Max Hit the Road came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by LucasArts. It was part of that wave of point-and-click adventures where dialogue and puzzles mattered more than reflexes. You play as Sam, the straight man dog in a suit, and Max, his unhinged rabbit partner. They are freelance police, and their job this time is to track down a missing bigfoot from a carnival.

You control the pair by clicking around screen by screen, picking up items, and talking to a parade of odd characters. The puzzles often involve combining objects in absurd ways or choosing the right smart aleck dialogue option. The pacing is relaxed; you can take your time exploring places like a roadside dinosaur park or a tacky wax museum. It feels like driving through the weirdest parts of America with two friends who never run out of jokes.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
