Shadow of the Comet came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by Infogrames. It was part of that wave of point and click adventures that relied on atmosphere and puzzles over action, fitting right in with the moody, detailed games of the era.

You control a young photographer, Parker, sent to the isolated town of Illsmouth to document a rare comet's passing. The main objective is to uncover the town's dark secret by exploring locations screen by screen, collecting items, and solving inventory puzzles. You talk to suspicious locals, decipher a madman's journal, and avoid hostile townsfolk who become more dangerous at night. The pacing is deliberate, and some puzzles are quite obscure, demanding careful attention to dialogue and environmental clues. It feels like slowly pulling back a curtain on a deep, unsettling horror.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
