Game Overview

Sid Meier’s Colonization is a strategic simulation game that puts you in charge of building and managing colonies in the New World, spanning from the early 1500s to the American Revolution. Starting with a small ship and a handful of colonists, you’ll explore uncharted lands, establish settlements, and develop them into thriving hubs of production. Assign colonists to gather resources like lumber and ore, or refine them into trade goods such as rum and coats—all while balancing diplomacy with Native villages and rival European powers.

As your colonies grow, tensions with the mother country escalate. The king imposes heavier taxes, pushing you toward rebellion. By generating "Liberty Bells," you’ll rally support for independence, culminating in a revolutionary war against royal forces. Victory requires careful planning, from economic management to military strategy, making Colonization a deep and engaging blend of city-building, trade, and historical conflict.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
