Game Overview

Playing Sonic Advance (Eurasia) (J) feels like a throwback to the Genesis days, but with smoother movement and a bit more polish. The first few levels are a blur of loops, springs, and badniks—you're either speeding through or getting knocked around if you don't watch your step.

I picked Tails first, mostly because flying over obstacles felt like cheating in the best way. The stages have these little alternate paths if you explore, but going fast is still the main draw. The emerald hunting is there if you want it, though I mostly ignored it unless I stumbled onto a special stage by accident.

Four-player mode is chaotic in a fun way, but good luck finding three other people with GBAs and link cables these days. Sonic Advance (Eurasia) (J) holds up as a solid portable Sonic game, even if it doesn't do anything wildly new.
