Game Overview

Space Ace came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, a port of the laser disc arcade game by Cinematronics. It was part of that wave of interactive movie games on the SNES, trying to capture some of that Dragon's Lair magic with its own animated style.

You control the hero, Dexter, or rather his buffed-up alter ego Ace, by reacting to on-screen prompts with the D-pad or buttons. The main goal is to rescue Kimberly from the villain Borf, navigating through a series of animated scenes where a single mistimed input leads to a quick, often silly, death. The gameplay is all about memorization and split-second timing, with branching paths that offer different outcomes. It's a relentless test of reflexes that feels more like a rhythm challenge than a traditional action game.
