Space Quest II: Chapter II – Vohaul’s Revenge came out in 1987 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed and published by Sierra On-Line. It was a time when adventure games relied on text parsers and pixel art, and this sequel continued the series' tradition of poking fun at sci-fi tropes while testing your wits.

You control Roger Wilco, a hapless janitor turned space hero, navigating screen by screen through hostile environments. Your main goal is to escape the jungle planet Labion and thwart the villain Sludge Vohaul’s revenge plot. Signature mechanics include typing text commands like “use rope on vine” or “examine strange pod,” solving inventory-based puzzles, and avoiding instant death scenarios that require quick saves. The pacing is deliberate, often demanding careful observation and experimentation, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you miss subtle clues. It feels like a mix of tension and absurd humor as you fumble through one ridiculous situation after another.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
