Game Overview

Space Quest V is peak Roger Wilco nonsense—in the best way. You start off thinking you're some hotshot pilot in a Star Wars-esque simulator, only to find out you're just cheating your way through StarCon Academy. Next thing you know, they stick you in command of the Eureka, which is basically a flying trash can (and yes, that’s a vacuum cleaner joke). The whole thing feels like someone mashed up Star Trek episodes with B-movie tropes and a heavy dose of self-aware humor.

One minute you're getting hunted by a Schwarzenegger-esque murder-bot named W-D40 (yes, like the lubricant), the next you're dumping space monkeys into your drink because, well, why not? There’s even a Fly parody where Roger gets turned into a human-headed insect while a fly with his body just… rolls around in garbage. Classic.

Somehow, between all the gags, there’s an actual plot about stopping a galaxy-wide plague, saving your future wife (so your kid from SQIV can exist), and outrunning a Kirk parody with a bad toupee. Roger’s still a disaster, but by the end, even his crew begrudgingly respects him. It’s ridiculous, charming, and surprisingly heartfelt—if you can survive the terrible puns.
