Game Overview

Star Trek: The Promethean Prophecy is one of those old-school text adventures where you are Captain Kirk—no fancy graphics, just you typing commands and hoping the parser understands what you’re trying to do. The Enterprise is wrecked, your crew’s starving, and now you’re stuck beaming down to some weird planet to scavenge food. Classic Trek setup, honestly.

Typing "look at tricorder" or "ask Spock about radiation" actually matters here—no hand-holding. I remember getting stuck for ages because I forgot to check the damn food synthesizers before leaving the ship. The writing nails the TOS vibe though, right down to McCoy grumbling and Scotty worrying about the engines. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand like modern games.

If you’re into retro text adventures or just love the original Trek crew at their most desperate, this one’s a neat time capsule. Just keep a walkthrough handy unless you enjoy banging your head against 1986-era puzzle logic.
