Okay, so picture this: a weird, Japan-only NES game where Luke Skywalker has black hair (??) and goes on a totally bonkers side-scrolling adventure that kinda-sorta follows A New Hope... if you squint. It starts on Tatooine like you'd expect, but then suddenly Luke's rescuing friends on random planets the movie never mentioned—Hoth even shows up early, complete with a rideable space whale because why not?

The levels are classic NES platforming—jumping over pits, slashing Stormtroopers with your lightsaber—but the bosses are where it gets wild. Every time you think you're fighting Darth Vader, he shape-shifts into a scorpion or a shark mid-battle. Oh, and Boba Fett just casually shows up too. By the time you're doing the Death Star trench run, you've accepted this game plays by its own rules.
