Super Mario Bros 2 (LF36) is a weird one—not your typical Mario game. Instead of stomping goombas, you're pulling vegetables out of the ground and throwing them at enemies. It feels more like a dream, with strange landscapes and even weirder bosses.

At first, the controls take some getting used to. Jumping on enemies doesn't work here, so you have to grab and toss everything. The levels are vertical, too, with platforms stacked high. It's easy to misjudge a jump and fall into a pit.

What stands out is how different each character plays. Mario's balanced, Luigi jumps weirdly high, Toad is fast but weak, and Peach can float for a second. You'll probably stick with one favorite after a few deaths.
