Super Mario Bros 2 (PRG 1) [T-Swed] is a weird one—you're not stomping goombas this time, just pulling turnips out of the ground and chucking them at enemies. It feels more like a dream than a Mario game, with floating platforms and that eerie Subcon music.

At first, the throwing mechanic is awkward, especially when you miss and have to dig up another veggie. But once you get used to it, there's something satisfying about lobbing a radish at a shy guy. The character switching adds some variety—Luigi's floaty jumps, Toad's speed—though I mostly stuck with Mario.

Super Mario Bros 2 (PRG 1) [T-Swed] is still fun, but it's definitely the oddball of the NES era.
