Super Mario Bros 2 [T-Port] is one of those weird NES platformers that doesn't play like the others. Instead of stomping goombas, you're pulling vegetables out of the ground and chucking them at enemies—which feels oddly satisfying once you get the timing down.

The first thing you notice is how different the movement is. Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach each have their own weight and jump arcs, so picking a character actually changes how you approach levels. Luigi floats, Toad digs fast, and Peach... well, she can hover for a second, which saves me more times than I'd like to admit.

It's got this dreamlike vibe too, with strange enemies like shy guys and those creepy masks that chase you. The whole thing feels like a side-step from the usual Mario formula, but in a way that grows on you. Super Mario Bros 2 [T-Port] is definitely its own thing, and that's what makes it interesting.
