Game Overview

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is one of those games that looks cute but secretly kicks your butt. You’re not Mario this time—just a very determined Yoshi, lugging Baby Mario across these wild, scribbly-looking levels that feel like they were ripped straight from a kid’s coloring book. The art style alone makes it stand out, with wobbly lines and bright colors everywhere.

Gameplay’s full of weird little surprises. You swallow enemies and poop them out as eggs (yeah, really), then chuck those eggs at everything—blocks, other enemies, whatever. Sometimes Yoshi turns into a helicopter or a train out of nowhere, and it’s just… delightful chaos. But don’t get too comfy—if you mess up, Baby Mario starts wailing, and that sound will haunt your dreams until you rescue him. It’s harder than it looks, but in the best way possible.

Honestly, it’s still one of the most creative platformers on the SNES. You can tell the devs had fun with this one.
