Game Overview

I first played The Blues Brothers: Jukebox Adventure back in the 90s, a 1993 MS-DOS release from Titus Software. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home on the PC at the time, with its chunky graphics and straightforward premise. You don't see many licensed games from that era that lean so hard into a specific vibe, but this one really tried to capture the spirit of the movies.

You control either Jake or Elwood, working your way through levels to recover their stolen instruments. The main goal is to punch out enemies, dodge obstacles, and collect records to unlock new stages. Signature mechanics include smashing through walls to find hidden items, driving the Bluesmobile in brief shooting sections, and even playing simple rhythm mini-games to earn extra lives. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially in later stages with tricky platforming. It feels like a chaotic, slightly janky tribute that somehow works because of its sheer enthusiasm.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
