I first played The Dragon's Power back in 1994, part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from Megadream Software. It was one of those mid-90s action titles that didn't try to push technical limits but delivered a solid, focused experience. You controlled a dragon, which was a refreshing change from the usual knights or wizards, and the game leaned into that fantasy power trip without overcomplicating things.

You guide your dragon through side-scrolling levels, breathing fire on knights, archers, and enemy spellcasters. The main goal is to reclaim your stolen eggs from a series of fortified castles. Key mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, destructible environments (like burning down wooden towers), and collecting power-ups to enhance your flame's range and damage. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty ramps up steadily, especially when dealing with wizards who can counter your attacks. It feels satisfying to carve a path of destruction with well-aimed fireballs and watch the chaos unfold.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
