Game Overview

Ever played Ultima VII? The Faery Tale Adventure feels like that, but with this massive, seamless world—17,000 screens of it, no loading screens, which was insane for its time. You pick one of three brothers to start: Julian’s the fighter, Phillip’s got sneaky luck, and Kevin’s the nice guy. Their stats actually matter—Julian gets tougher by killing stuff, Kevin levels up kindness by helping beggars (weirdly wholesome), and Phillip… well, he just cheats death a few extra times.

The world’s stitched together cleverly with reusable map chunks, so it scrolls smoothly even when new areas load in the background. And the music? Surprisingly good for an old DOS game—like someone shoved a fantasy soundtrack in there. Just don’t expect modern hand-holding; you’ll wander into wolves or get stuck on dialogue choices that actually change things. It’s janky in that classic way, but there’s something charming about how ambitious it was.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
