I first played The Misadventure of the Holy Grail as part of a MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it never had an official numbered release. I'm not sure who originally made it, but it fits right in with the kind of quirky, text-heavy adventures that popped up in the early '90s. It doesn't try to be epic; it's just a silly, low-budget take on Arthurian legend that runs on a floppy disk.

You control a knight, moving from screen to screen in a simple side-scrolling world. Your goal is to hunt down the Holy Grail, but most of your time is spent talking to bizarre characters, picking up useless items, and solving logic puzzles that deliberately don't make sense. Combat is minimal; you might swing a sword now and then, but the real challenge is figuring out what the game even wants you to do next.
