Game Overview

I remember picking up The Terminator: Rampage back in 1993, a Bethesda Softworks release for MS-DOS. It was one of those games that felt right at home on a clunky PC, running from a boot disk with just enough memory to get by. The era was full of ambitious, sometimes janky, action titles trying to capture movie magic, and this was Bethesda's take on the Terminator universe before they became known for sprawling RPGs.

You play as a resistance fighter navigating a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, screen by screen, with the goal of destroying Skynet's core. The game mixes overhead exploration with first-person combat segments; you scavenge for weapon parts to assemble better guns, manage limited ammo, and fend off Hunter-Killers and T-800s. It's methodical and often difficult, demanding careful resource management amid constant threats. Piecing together a plasma rifle from scattered components while drones close in makes every small victory feel crucial and tense.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
