Play Tom & Jerry (and Tuffy) Online

Play as Jerry (or tiny troublemaker Tuffy), dodging Tom’s traps and dropping anvils on him when he least expects it—just like the cartoons, but with way more pixelated chaos. Nail the timing on jumps or watch Tom turn the tables with a smug grin.

Game Overview

Tom & Jerry (and Tuffy) came out on the NES in 1993, developed by Hi Tech Expressions. It was one of those many licensed games from the era, trying to capture the spirit of the cartoons on a system that was already seeing more advanced titles on the horizon. You don't hear much about it now, but it had its moment in rental stores and bargain bins.

You control either Jerry or Tuffy, moving through a house screen by screen to collect cheese pieces while avoiding Tom. The main mechanics involve jumping over obstacles, using items like anvils or marbles dropped from above to stun Tom temporarily, and navigating some tricky platforming sections. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially when Tom gets persistent. It feels exactly like you'd expect: a simple, sometimes frustrating attempt to turn cartoon slapstick into a playable challenge.
