Tom & Jerry Cat-astrophe came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Hi-Tech Expressions. It was one of those early PC platformers that tried to capture the feel of a cartoon on screen, back when games were simpler and focused on direct action rather than complex stories.

You control either Tom or Jerry, moving through a multi-room house with the goal of causing as much destruction as possible. Each screen presents interactive objects like vases, paintings, and furniture that you can break or activate, often triggering slapstick reactions. You also have to avoid hazards such as falling anvils and spring-loaded traps, which add a layer of timing and evasion. The game moves quickly, and the challenge comes from balancing aggression with caution, since one wrong move can end your turn. It feels like you are creating your own little episode of cartoon havoc with every playthrough.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
