Game Overview

Tom & Jerry for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1992, published by Kemco. It was one of many licensed platformers of that era, trying to capture the spirit of the cartoon on the 16-bit hardware. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel; it just drops you right into their familiar, destructive rivalry.

You control Jerry, and your goal is to navigate through the house, room by room, to reach a piece of cheese at the end of each stage. Tom is always lurking, and you have to outsmart him. The main mechanics involve picking up items like marbles or mousetraps to temporarily stun him, or using springs and other objects in the environment to create elaborate chain reactions. The pacing is frantic; you're constantly looking for the next useful thing to throw while avoiding his paws. It feels exactly like being the little mouse in a very big, very dangerous world.
