Game Overview

I first played Unlimited Adventures back in 1993, a release from Strategic Simulations, Inc. that came out as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games lineup. It was a time when many RPGs were still heavily text-based or relied on simple graphics, but this one gave players the tools to build their own adventures using the engine from earlier Gold Box games, which felt like a big step for player creativity on the platform.

You control a custom party of adventurers, creating each character from scratch with Dungeons & Dragons rules. The main goal is to explore dungeons and wilderness areas screen by screen, fighting monsters in tactical, turn-based combat where positioning and spell choice really matter. You'll search for hidden doors, solve environmental puzzles, and gather key items to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be steep if you're not careful with your resources. It feels like directing your own low-fantasy module, where every decision carries weight.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
