Game Overview

Woody Woodpecker no Go! Go! Racing is one of those weird little Game Boy Color racers that somehow works despite itself. You pick Woody or one of his cartoon pals (yes, even that grumpy dog) and zip through tracks that feel like they were ripped straight from a Saturday morning cartoon—loops, jumps, and all. The controls take a second to click, but once they do, it’s pure chaotic fun.

It’s definitely not Mario Kart, but that’s kind of the charm. The power-ups are ridiculous (throwing anvils at racers ahead of you never gets old), and the Japanese version has this quirky, slightly harder-to-find appeal. I won’t lie—it’s janky in places, but if you’ve got a soft spot for late ‘90s handheld racing or just love Woody’s brand of nonsense, it’s worth a few laps.

Just don’t expect a deep experience—this is the gaming equivalent of a sugary cereal commercial, and I mean that in the best way.
