Game Overview

World Class Rugby '95 came out in 1995 for MS-DOS, developed by Audiogenic Software Ltd. It was part of that wave of early PC sports games, where the graphics were simple but the gameplay had to carry the experience. You could pick international teams and play through tournaments or friendly matches, all from the command line or a DOS boot disk.

You control a team of fifteen players, directing passes, kicks, and tackles with a combination of keyboard commands and timing. The main objective is to outscore your opponent by grounding the ball in the try zone or kicking goals. Key mechanics include setting tactical formations before plays, executing strategic kicks for territory, and timing tackles to stop advancing runners. The pacing is brisk, with matches flowing quickly from phase to phase, though the difficulty can spike against smarter AI opponents. It feels like a genuine test of rugby knowledge and reflexes, especially when a well-timed move breaks the defensive line.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
