X-COM: UFO Defense came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by MicroProse. It was one of those games that defined the era, blending strategy and tension in a way that felt fresh and demanding. You take charge of a secret global organization tasked with defending Earth from an alien invasion, and nothing about it is simple or forgiving.

You control a squad of soldiers, manage your base, research alien technology, and fund your operations by keeping nations from panicking. The turn-based tactical combat forces you to move carefully, screen by screen, as you hunt aliens in terror sites and crashed UFOs. One missed shot or exposed flank can wipe out your best troops, and the strategic layer keeps the pressure on with limited resources and constant threats. Playing it feels like walking a tightrope where every decision matters and every victory is earned.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
