Game Overview

Zone 66 came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from Epic MegaGames. It was one of those shareware titles you'd find on a floppy disk, a straightforward top-down shooter that didn't try to be more than it was, just a solid arcade experience for the era.

You pilot a small fighter plane through a series of connected screens, each one a self-contained combat zone packed with enemy turrets, tanks, and aircraft. Your goal is to destroy all enemy structures in a sector to unlock the exit, then move on to the next. The screen-by-screen progression gives the game a methodical pace, while ricocheting bullets add a layer of strategy, letting you hit enemies around corners if you angle your shots just right. It's not an easy game; enemy fire is relentless, and navigating narrow passages requires precise control. Flying through those tight spaces, weaving between projectiles, creates a genuine sense of tension and focus.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
