Zone 66 came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection from Epic MegaGames. It was one of those shareware titles you'd find on a floppy disk, a straightforward top-down shooter that didn't try to be more than it was, just a solid arcade experience for the era.

You pilot a small fighter plane through a series of connected screens, each one a self-contained combat zone packed with enemy turrets, tanks, and aircraft. Your goal is to destroy all enemy structures in a sector to unlock the exit, then move on to the next. The screen-by-screen progression gives the game a methodical pace, while ricocheting bullets add a layer of strategy, letting you hit enemies around corners if you angle your shots just right. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
