Game Overview

Zool - Majou Tsukai Densetsu is one of those weird, late-era N64 games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this odd charm to it. You play as a young mage-in-training, running around a world that feels like someone mixed a JRPG with a Saturday morning cartoon. The magic system’s actually kind of cool—you collect spells by finding scrolls, and some of them are downright silly (there’s one that turns enemies into chickens, because of course there is).

It’s not all smooth sailing, though. The puzzles can be frustratingly vague, and the camera angles occasionally make platforming sections feel like guesswork. But if you stick with it, there’s something oddly satisfying about piecing together the weird little world they built here. Just don’t expect a polished Zelda-like—it’s more of a "late-night snack" kind of N64 game.
