Play Battle Chess Amiga Online
Battle Chess (1988) is a strategy game for Amiga featuring animated chess piece battles during captures, with 30 unique combat animations. Offers 10 skill levels, 30,000 opening moves, and multiplayer via modem or serial connection. Playable in 3D or 2D modes.

Battle Chess came out on the Amiga in 1988, developed by Interplay and published by Electronic Arts. It was one of those games that really showed off what the Amiga could do, especially with its graphics and animation, at a time when many games were still pretty basic visually.
You control the chess pieces on a 3D board, trying to checkmate your opponent's king. The big draw is how the pieces come to life and fight whenever one captures another; pawns might brawl with clubs, knights joust on horseback, and bishops cast spells. You can play against the computer across ten difficulty levels or against another person. The pacing depends on how quickly you and your opponent make moves, but the battles add a fun, unpredictable break in the action. It feels like watching a miniature war play out every time you take a piece.
