Boring Donkey Kong is exactly what it sounds like—someone took the arcade classic and drained all the excitement out of it. The ladders are still there, and yeah, Mario technically rescues Pauline, but everything moves like molasses. The graphics are so barebones you’d think they were drawn with a stick in the dirt.

At first I thought it was broken, but no—it’s just that stripped down. There’s something weirdly charming about how committed it is to being dull. If you’ve ever wondered what Donkey Kong would look like if someone forgot to add fun, this is your answer. Mostly for Atari collectors who enjoy oddities, or people who want to test their patience.

Honestly, I played it for 10 minutes and then switched it off to go stare at a wall. It was more engaging.
