Man, Cannon Fodder on the Game Boy Color is brutal in the best way. You’re in charge of this little squad of soldiers, moving them through these tight, top-down maps where every wrong move gets someone killed. And trust me, they will die—a lot. The levels start simple, but before long, you’re sweating over every shot, trying not to get flanked by enemies hiding behind trees or bunkers.

What’s wild is how many levels there are. Just when you think you’ve got the hang of it, the game throws something new at you—maybe a surprise ambush or a maze-like jungle where enemies pop out of nowhere. It’s punishing, but in that old-school way where beating a tough level actually feels like an accomplishment. You’ll memorize routes, learn to prioritize targets, and still lose half your squad to a well-placed grenade.
