CHAMP Kong came out in 1983 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by SNK. It was one of those early PC adaptations of a popular arcade game, trying to capture the feel on home computers before graphics or sound were particularly advanced. You could tell it was aiming for something familiar, but it had to work within the limits of the hardware at the time.

You control a small character who must climb a series of platforms and ladders while avoiding barrels and other obstacles thrown by the ape at the top. The main goal is to reach the top of the structure to rescue the character held captive. The game uses screen by screen progression, with each level presenting a new arrangement of ladders and hazards. The pacing is relentless; the ape’s throws are unpredictable, and mistiming a jump means starting over. It feels tense and demanding, with every move needing precision.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
