Donkey Kong RNDMZR takes the original arcade chaos and cranks it up to 11. Instead of memorizing the same old ladders and barrels, every run shuffles the stage layouts—sometimes the platforms are stacked weirdly, other times the fireballs come at you from unexpected angles. It keeps that tight, jump-on-a-dime feel of the classic, but now you can’t just rely on muscle memory.

First time I booted it up, I got a level where Donkey Kong just kept hurling barrels backwards—took me a second to realize I wasn’t going crazy. The randomization isn’t just cosmetic either; some layouts feel borderline unfair until you adapt. Perfect if you’ve played the original to death and want that fresh panic of not knowing what’s coming next.

Still has that satisfying ‘clang’ when you bonk a barrel, though. Some things shouldn’t change.
