Game Overview

Dragon Ball Z: Goku Densetsu is one of those DS games that surprised me—it’s not just another button-masher. You actually build a deck of attack and defense cards, then play them in turn-based battles against classic DBZ villains. At first I thought the card system might slow things down, but it makes you think more tactically, especially when you’re up against someone like Frieza and need to time your blocks just right.

The story covers all the big arcs from Saiyan Saga to Buu, though it skips some filler (thankfully). The pixel art for the special moves looks great on the DS screen—Kamehameha waves actually feel powerful when you pull them off. Just don’t expect deep RPG mechanics; it’s more about nailing those card combos while reliving Goku’s biggest fights.

If you ever wanted to out-strategize Cell instead of just spamming ki blasts, this is your chance.
