Game Overview

Drak was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't come from a well known developer or publisher. It was one of those many action platformers that filled the shareware scene in the early 90s, offering a straightforward but challenging experience for players who grew up with floppy disks and command line prompts.

You control a knight navigating a series of interconnected castle rooms, each screen presenting a new layout of enemies and obstacles. The main goal is to explore these rooms, defeat monsters like skeletons and bats with your sword, and eventually locate a key to progress deeper into the fortress. Movement is screen by screen; you clear one area before moving to the next, and timing your attacks is crucial because enemies respawn if you leave and return. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with instant death from spikes or bottomless pits forcing careful observation. It feels tense and methodical, demanding patience and precision with every step you take.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
