Game Overview

Duke Nukem: Episode 2 – Mission: Moonbase came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Apogee Software. It was a time when shareware episodes let players try a chunk of the game before buying the rest, and this one dropped you right into Duke's boots on a hostile lunar installation.

You control Duke, moving screen by screen through the moonbase, shooting robots and alien enemies with a pistol and other weapons you pick up. Your goal is to find keycards, unlock doors, and ultimately shut down the alien threat. The game relies on tight platforming, careful ammo management, and searching for secrets hidden in the environment. It moves at a brisk pace but can be punishing if you rush into enemy fire. Playing it feels like a mix of tension and satisfaction as you clear rooms and uncover the next route forward.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
