Play Final Fantasy 3 (J) Online
Lead a party of heroes in an epic RPG adventure with a deep job system.
Final Fantasy 3 came out for the NES in 1990, developed and published by Square. It was one of the later RPGs on the system, building on what earlier games in the series had established while introducing ideas that would stick around for years. The game didn't get an official English release until much later, which made the original Famicom version something of a curiosity for Western players at the time.
You control a party of four young orphans who are drawn into a quest to restore balance to the world. The main goal involves traveling across an overworld map, visiting towns for supplies and clues, and delving into multi level dungeons filled with monsters and traps. A defining feature is the job system, which lets you change each character's role, such as warrior, black mage, or thief, adapting to different challenges. Exploration is screen by screen, with random enemy encounters leading to turn based combat where you input commands for each party member. The game has a steady pace, though some dungeons feel long and the difficulty can spike without warning. It feels like a substantial, thoughtful adventure where your choices in jobs and strategy really shape how you progress.
