You control a ragtag crew rebelling against an empire, swapping magic skills between characters—Sabin suplexes trains while Terra wrestles with her past. The world breaks in ways you don’t see coming.

Game Overview
Final Fantasy VI (mistakenly called FF3 in the US SNES release) is one of those RPGs that just sticks with you. You start off with Terra, this amnesiac girl with mysterious powers, and before long you're thrown into a rebellion against an empire that's basically steamrolling the world with magitek armor. The cast is huge—14 playable characters, each with their own weird quirks—and the customization is wild. You can teach anyone magic with Espers, or just brute-force fights with Sabin's ridiculous martial arts moves.
The story goes places you wouldn't expect from a 16-bit game. Opera scene? Check. A villain who actually wins halfway through? Yep. And that soundtrack—Terra's theme still gives me chills. The pixel art holds up too, especially the way spells and summons animate. It's not perfect (good luck figuring out Gau's rages without a guide), but even now, it feels like RPGs are still catching up to what this one pulled off in 1994.
