Game Overview

Final Fantasy IV Advance (J) is one of those RPGs that pulls you in fast. Within minutes, you're thrown into a rebellion, controlling Cecil as he questions his orders, and the story just doesn't let up from there.

The pixel art still holds up, especially on the GBA screen, and the music—even in this version—has that classic weight to it. The dungeons feel tight, almost claustrophobic at times, with traps and enemies that keep you on your toes.

What surprised me was how much the characters stick with you. Kain's back-and-forth loyalties, Rydia's growth from a scared kid to a powerhouse—it all clicks in a way that makes grinding through random battles feel worth it. Though, yeah, the encounter rate can get a little exhausting.

If you're into old-school RPGs with a solid story, Final Fantasy IV Advance (J) is still a great way to experience it.
