Kingdom At War came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Manaccom Pty Ltd. It was one of those strategy titles from the era that didn't try to dazzle with graphics but instead focused on deep, thoughtful mechanics that demanded your full attention.

You control a monarch trying to rebuild a kingdom from near ruin. Your main objective is to strengthen your castle, manage resources, and outmaneuver rival lords through diplomacy, espionage, and military force. Key mechanics include hiring knights for defense, taxing peasants for income (though overtaxing risks rebellion), and sending spies to uncover enemy plans or sow discord. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense; every decision carries weight, and a single misstep can unravel hours of progress. Playing it feels like walking a tightrope where focus and foresight are your only safety nets.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
