Game Overview

Lords of the Realm II came out in 1996 for MS-DOS, developed by Impressions Games. It was part of that wave of strategy titles that asked you to manage more than just armies; it was a game about running a medieval fiefdom from the ground up. You weren't just a general; you were a landlord, a bureaucrat, and a warlord all at once.

You control a noble house vying for the crown of England. The main objective is to conquer all rival counties, either through diplomacy or force. Key mechanics include managing your lands screen by screen, assigning peasants to farm, mine, or produce weapons, and then mustering those resources into armies for turn-based tactical battles on a hex grid. The pacing is deliberate, even slow, as you wait for harvests and iron production to fill your coffers. It feels like a constant, satisfying juggle between economic stability and military ambition.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
