Game Overview

Lunar Command came out in 1984 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Atari, Inc. It was one of those early PC titles that felt right at home on a beige box with a monochrome monitor, demanding quick reflexes and a steady hand. You didn't get much backstory; the screen just dropped you into the action, and you either learned fast or watched your base get obliterated.

You control a small lunar lander tasked with defending your base from waves of alien invaders. Your main objective is to survive as long as possible, shooting down enemy ships and avoiding their fire. The game uses simple keyboard controls to maneuver your craft left and right, firing missiles with careful timing. The pacing is relentless; enemies descend faster as your score climbs, and the difficulty spikes quickly. It feels tense and immediate, a pure test of focus where every mistake costs you dearly.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
