Blast through neon corridors dodging enemy fire—it’s pure ’90s DOS chaos where walls come at you faster than you can react. That bleeping soundtrack still haunts me.

Game Overview

I first came across Megatron Shareware on one of those MS-DOS Classic Games compilation discs, the kind with a plain label and a list of titles in tiny print. It was one of those early 90s releases, a product of its time when shareware was how you discovered new games, often made by small teams or solo developers just putting their work out there. The name didn't give much away, but it fit right in with the era's straightforward, action-focused titles.

You control a small, nimble ship tasked with clearing each stage of geometric enemies that fire back relentlessly. The main objective is survival; you navigate tight, maze-like corridors that scroll automatically, forcing you to keep moving forward while avoiding walls and enemy shots. Two mechanics define the experience: rapid dodging through narrow gaps and precise shooting to eliminate threats before they box you in. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty spikes quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and memorization of enemy patterns. It feels like a tense, high-speed dance where one wrong move ends everything.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
