Game Overview

Murder on the Zinderneuf came out in 1983 for MS-DOS, developed by Ozark Softscape. It was one of those early detective games that tried something different, putting you in charge of a murder investigation aboard a luxury airship. The setting felt fresh for its time, a mix of art deco style and classic whodunit tension that stood out among other text-heavy adventures.

You play as a detective moving from screen to screen, questioning passengers and collecting clues before the ship reaches its destination. Each playthrough randomizes the killer's identity, so you can't rely on memory alone; you have to pay close attention to alibis and inconsistencies. The pacing is tense, with a real risk of accusing the wrong person and letting the murderer escape. It feels like racing against a clock in a world of lies and secrets.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
