Play Quest for Glory III: Wages of War Online

In Wages of War, your old hero class gets new tricks—Paladins sling spells between sword swings, while mages summon staves but can't dodge hungry lions. The overworld's full of weird random fights, like battling a walking waffle you can actually eat.

Game Overview

Quest for Glory III keeps the series' class system—Warrior, Magic User, Thief—but sneaks in a cool twist if you imported a save from the last game. Played a Warrior who acted all noble? Congrats, you’re now a Paladin, mixing sword skills with magic like some holy Swiss Army knife. Magic Users get this weird staff-summoning trick where you’re rooted in place but cast spells for free (handy until a lion wanders by). Thieves kinda get shafted this time—bare any places to steal, no guild, just one lousy hut to pickpocket.

The big change is the overworld map, where you bounce between tiny icons of cities and landmarks. Time flies while traveling, and random encounters pop up constantly—mostly fights, but sometimes goofy stuff like the Awful Waffle Walker (yes, it’s edible) or Laurel and Hardy as lost legionnaires. Stealthy types avoid more fights, which is nice because combat’s everywhere. Also, keep an eye out for Sanford and Son hawking junk in the market. Classic.

It’s janky in places, but the mix of humor and hybrid classes makes it worth sticking around.
