Game Overview

Rampage came out for MS-DOS in 1986, part of that wave of arcade ports that defined a lot of early PC gaming. Bally Midway developed the original, and this version tried to capture that same chaotic spirit on home computers, even if the graphics and sound were a step down from the coin-op cabinet. It was a straightforward, no frills kind of game for its time.

You control one of three mutated monsters, George, Lizzie, or Ralph, and your goal is simple: destroy every building in each city while surviving the military's counterattacks. You punch through walls floor by floor, eat the people who pop out to regain health, and fend off helicopters and tanks. The game progresses screen by screen through a map of the United States, and the constant pressure from enemies means you are always managing your health bar. It feels like a silly, destructive romp where the only strategy is to keep smashing before your timer runs out.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
