I picked up Les Aventures de Simba on Game Boy Color back when it came out, a little side-scrolling platformer based on The Lion King. It was developed by Dark Technologies and published by THQ, one of those many licensed games that tried to capture the movie's energy on a handheld. It fit right in with the era, where colorful adaptations were common, even if they sometimes felt a bit constrained by the hardware.

You control Simba through various stages of his life, starting as a cub and eventually growing into the adult lion. The main goal is to survive each level, avoid hazards like hyenas and falling rocks, and defeat Scar at the end. The gameplay involves a lot of jumping across platforms, navigating environmental obstacles, and using a pounce attack to take down enemies. Some stages have you running away from stampedes or climbing vines, which adds a bit of variety. The difficulty can be pretty unforgiving, especially with precise jumps and limited continues, but pushing through to reclaim Pride Rock feels satisfying. It's a straightforward, challenging platformer that captures the spirit of the film in a compact form.
