I picked up Los Simpsons El Videojuego for the Nintendo DS back in 2007, a time when licensed games were a real mixed bag. Electronic Arts published it, and it was one of those titles that felt perfectly suited for the handheld, offering a portable dose of Springfield. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just gave you a solid Simpsons adventure to play on the go.

You control different members of the family, each with their own abilities; Homer smashes through obstacles, Bart uses his skateboard to grind on rails, and Lisa solves environmental puzzles with her saxophone. The main goal is to stop a villainous plan, which involves moving screen by screen across familiar locations, fighting enemies with exaggerated slapstick moves, and collecting items to progress. The pacing is brisk, though some sections can feel repetitive, and the touch screen minigames are a mixed bag. It feels like interacting with a particularly chaotic episode of the show, complete with all its humor and occasional frustration.
