Game Overview

Star Saga One: Beyond the Boundary came out in 1988 for MS-DOS, published by Masterplay Publishing. It was a space adventure game from that era when text and simple graphics did a lot of the heavy lifting. You explore a universe full of planets, aliens, and mysteries, all without the flash of modern 3D engines.

You control a small crew aboard a starship, moving from system to system. Your main goal is to uncover the truth behind a galactic threat known as the Boundary. The game uses a mix of turn based tactical combat, resource trading, and branching dialogue with alien races. You manage your ship's fuel and supplies carefully, since running out in deep space can be a quick end. The pacing is slow and thoughtful, demanding patience as you plot each jump. Playing it feels like steering your own fragile ship through a vast, quiet, and sometimes dangerous unknown.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
